Adobe has already confirmed the Arm version of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Rush for the Mac running the latest Arm-based Apple M1 chip, allowing users to run the video-editing software natively. The software is currently in beta phase and is currently available for public beta testers, according to a report by 8-bit.
Apart from this, the company has confirmed the list of known bugs and missing features for the software. Also, the company has confirmed that they will add more features from the Intel version to M1 version in phases. The current public beta includes features like basic components and core editing options such as graphics, colour, productions, Multicam, etc.
The supported codec list on Apple M1 chip includes H.264 & H.265 in MP4, MOV, or MXF, AVC Intra, XAVC-I & XAVC-L in MXF, ProRes in MOV or MXF, JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, HEIF/HEIC, AAC, WAV and M4A. Also, third-party integrations from the current release version will need to update it manually for Apple Silicon.
Here’s a list of known issues with the beta release:
Tapping the tool selector on the Touch Bar (MacBook Pro) can cause a crash
Premiere Pro can crash on launch if set to Chinese localization
Team Projects collaborators can appear offline
Dragging markers in the Timeline or Program Monitor can cause a flicker in the Program Monitor
Estimated file size when exporting can be incorrect by an order of magnitude
Project Manager has an incomplete set of presets as well as some extraneous presets
Using Lumetri color controls while the Program or Source Monitor are set to Multi-Camera view can cause the application to hang
