According to a new leak, the OPPO Reno 6 series is already in development as the successor to the Reno 5 lineup that was launched in December last year. The new tip, by reliable leaker Digital Chat Station, reveals the OPPO Reno 6 series launch timeline and charging specifications. Also, the leak says the upcoming series will include three variants, similar to the Reno5 line-up. To recall, the company only launched the Reno 5 Pro variant in India, leaving out the Reno 5 and the Reno5 Pro+. The OPPO Reno 6 smartphones are going to be affordable mid-range phones that will most likely offer 5G connectivity and use MediaTek chipsets, just like its predecessor.
OPPO Reno 6 series launch timeline, charging specs
Digital Chat Station claims the OPPO Reno 6 series is in its final stages and that it would be announced soon. Considering the company updates its Reno series roughly every 5-6 months, it won’t be a surprise we see it launch in April or May 2021. The line-up will likely include the standard Reno 6, the Reno 6 Pro, and the Reno 6 Pro+.
Adding to that, the tipster says the phones will come with up to 65W fast charging support. This isn’t really surprising as even the current Reno 5 series supports this technology. However, the tipster also states that the phones will feature up to 30W wireless fast charging technology. Other details of the smartphones are still a mystery, but we can expect more leaks and information in the coming weeks.
If OPPO Reno 6 series indeed offers 30W wireless charging support, then that would be the first time any mid-range phone has got this feature. The Reno 5 series was announced back in December 2020, so we may not need to wait too long to find out whether these details are accurate. For now, this is all we know, but more will be shared in the coming days.
