TL;DR

  • Amazfit launched the Amazfit GTR Pro 3, GTR 3, and GTS 3.
  • The watches all boast extended battery life with the GTR Pro 3 offering up to 12 days of normal usage on a single charge.
  • Prices start at $229 for the GTR Pro 3 and $179 for the GTR 3 and GTS 3.

The rumored Amazfit trio has officially launched with some expected specs and a few exciting upgrades. All three watches pack extended battery life and an arguably excessive number of sport tracking modes.

The company’s newest flagship smartwatch, the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro, features a round AMOLED 1.45-inch display and a 450mAh battery offering up to 12 days of battery life. That will give users plenty of time to enjoy the device’s 2.3GB of storage, plus Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and a mic and speaker for on-wrist call support. The last two features also come in handy for reaching out to Amazon’s Alexa, which the watch can do when connected to the internet.

The Amazfit GTR 3 Pro weighs in at just 32g (for reference, just slightly more than the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4), with a sleek, classic aesthetic. Its 22mm, quick-release fluoroelastomer strap is available in Infinite Black or Brown Leather but is likely interchangeable with a variety of options from third-party retailers as well.

Meanwhile, the Amazfit GTR 3 keeps much of the same look and features as the Pro but swaps storage, Wi-Fi, mic, speaker, and Bluetooth for up to 21 days of battery life and a slightly smaller display. The Amazfit GTS 3 holds on to its Apple-esque, rectangular AMOLED screen with just one button and a silicone strap.

Health and fitness features

First and foremost a set of fitness watches, the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro as well as the GTR 3 and GTS 3 separate from their predecessors with a BioTracker optical sensor. Users can use this new sensor to track blood oxygen, heart rate, and stress.

All three watches automatically recognize eight typical forms of activity including running, walking, and biking, and can track over 150 sports on demand. They can then sync this and other health data with either Apple Health or Google Fit since the watches all run Zepp OS, making them compatible with both iOS and Android devices. We haven’t been able to test these features yet but we’re keeping our fingers crossed for improved fitness tracking accuracy.
