With a series of Bollywood and Hollywood films all geared up to release in cinema halls soon, Vicky Kaushal’s most-talked-about project Sardar Udham was finally released on Amazon Prime Video earlier this month (after several months of delay due to the pandemic). While the trailer of the historical drama left everyone on the edge of their seats, the patriotic movie based on revolutionary freedom fighter Udham Singh’s life was brought to life by renowned filmmaker Shoojit Sircar. And with Vicky Kaushal stepping in the titular role, the talented actor not only impressed the audience with his stellar performance but also paid tribute to late actor, Irrfan Khan, who was the original choice for Udham Singh.

While everyone has been praising Vicky’s performance and director Shoojit Sircar’s artistic vision, the historical biopic has managed to score a stunning 9.2 on IMDb. Vicky shared the news by sharing a poster of Sardar Udham along with a ‘heartfelt’ note. “9.2!!! Aap sab ne toh Udham macha diya. Heartfelt gratitude for all the love pouring in for #SardarUdham,” Vicky wrote.

Known for delivering spectacular performances on-screen, Vicky’s personal life has also come under the limelight as reports of his rumoured relationship with actress Katrina Kaif made their way on the internet. While neither of them has confirmed these reports, fans have been enjoying a field day online sharing pictures and videos of the popular actors.

The 33-year-old actor also thanked director Shoojit Sircar for considering and giving him a chance to star in this once in a lifetime opportunity. He shared a series of BTS throwback clicks with the ace filmmaker and wrote, “Thank You @shoojitsircar Sir for taking me back in time and making me meet your #SardarUdham. An experience that took a lot out of me and gave a lot more in return. This one’s for the two friends that you always wish to keep alive, Udham Singh and Irrfan Saab.”

Meanwhile, on the acting front, Vicky Kaushal will soon be seen in another biopic which will be based on Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, and be helmed by Meghna Gulzar. Apart from this project, Vicky also has The Immortal Ashwatthama which has been postponed currently due to various reasons.
