I never thought I’d say this but maybe I’ll finally be able get over the fate of Marvel hero Iron Man in the end of Avengers: Endgame. No, not because it’s easy but for there is a lot to distract myself with. Like you probably already know, MCU is all set to dish out TV series like She-Hulk, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and WandaVision among others for Disney+. Earlier, we had even told you how Tatiana Maslany has been cast as She-Hulk for the series to the surprise of MCU fans that were waiting with bated breath.
In fact, it’s a good day today cause we have some news from where that came from and it’s even more faith-reaffirming if that’s even possible. If you haven’t heard already, the makers have finally found its Ms Marvel, the Pakistani American teen superhero in newcomer Iman Vellani, reports Deadline. The actress is all set to play Marvel’s first Muslim super-(s)hero, Kamala Khan and if this isn’t a big win for diversity, I don’t know what is.
Needless to say, loyalists are thrilled including Mindy Kaling who got the ball rolling in the first place. She took to Twitter and wrote, “What a joy in these trying times to see that #MsMarvel (a Pakistani American teen superhero!) has cast its lead role, a young actress named Iman Vellani! Congrats to you! I can’t wait to see the show! #RepresentationMatters”
Even fellow-enthusiasts Kumail Nanjiani shared how the news of the same got him teary-eyed!

I just saw they cast Ms. Marvel and legit got teary eyed.
Congratulations Iman Vellani! Your work is going to mean so much to so many people, myself included. I can’t wait.

Aww, we don’t blame him though. It will be quite something to see Vellani bring to life the part of Kamala Khan from New Jersey which is based on the comic-book character created by editors Sana Amanat and G. Willow Wilson. Kamala, a high-school student by day and Ms Marvel, a teen superhero by night, the series is written by Bisha K. Ali and is being helmed by Adil El Arbi , Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Meera Menon. According to Marvel chief Kevin Feige, Khan will also be seen in future Marvel movies and we can’t wait! But while there is time before anything on that front happens, Ms Marvel is all set to premiere on the small screen in 2022. It’s high time to drop the trailer, no?
Meanwhile, you and I can watch WandaVision, another highly-anticipated MCU show on Disney+ as early as later this year. It will be the first release and if the trailer was any indication, it’s going to be bumpy ride (because of all the time travel).
