And BTS has done it again! If you haven’t heard the big news yet, the K-pop music sensation has blasted onto the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart with their latest, Permission To Dance debuting at No.1! Yes, it’s the fourth track by the septet that has made history with first-place arrivals.

That’s not all; the current feat is even more momentous because it has earned them their fifth No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100– after Dynamite, Savage Love, Life Goes On and Butter–where the baton has been passed from Butter to Permission to Dance. Yes, members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have dethroned themselves making them the only artist after Drake to do so. And all of this glory over a span of 10 months and two weeks only! According to Billboard, Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data and needless to say, BTS have climbed it up and how!

Reportedly, the song which is co-written by Ed Sheeran, marking their second collaboration after Make It Right, has registered 15.9 million U.S. streams and 1.1 million radio airplay audience impressions and sold 140,100 downloads (via its original and instrumental digital versions, each on sale for 69 cents) since its release on July 9. And honestly, we are not surprised.

It is also written by Snow Patrol singer Johnny McDaid, along with frequent Sheeran collaborator, British producer Steve Mac, as well as Butter co-writer Jenna Andrews.

Now, Butter stands at spot No.7 after spending its first seven weeks on the Hot 100 with The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber song Stay debuting on the Hot 100 at No. 3.

Needless to say, all the members are thrilled. They even took to Weverse, a social media platform by HYBE, all of them thanked the ARMY for the continued love and support. Group leader RM thanked fans and wrote, “I’m feeling a wide range of emotions!! Having continuously been unable to meet you all, I was in a state where I’ve become very numb to joy or sadness. Nonetheless, I’d like to fully enjoy today, with my eyes closed and my body dancing for no reason! I’m certainly happy! That you have given me emotions like these, I continue to be sincerely honored and grateful! I hope one day we can meet and embrace each other, and share and cherish this joy we’re unable to fully share together at the moment! Thank you with all of my heart,” he said. There’s more from where that came from.

BTW, Permission To Dance has simultaneously debuted at No. 1 on both Billboard Global 200 and Global 200 Excl. US singles charts this week and that’s all the more reason to dance!
