Remember the lockdown life? Yeah, it wasn’t a walk in the park. And if you don’t want the to endure the same hell again, wear your Goddamn masks and I’m looking at you Mumbai peeps! Like you must have seen in the news, Maharashtra saw a sudden hike in COVID-19 cases with over 3,000 new cases for seven consecutive days, reports Times of India. Mumbai alone has been registering over 500 cases. In fact, as of today, the total tally of positive cases has reached 3,15,030 with 461 new cases and the 11,423 numbers of deaths with three new fatalities.
Needless to top officials are looking inti the worrisome state of affairs including Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray who has issued a fair warning, especially for people and organizations that are flouting COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs). He said, “People have become carefree. It is for the people to decide if they want a lockdown or want to continue living with the small restrictions like now.”
The CM also reportedly held a review meeting with his deputy Ajit Pawar and all the municipal commissioners, district administrations who expressed concern about several restaurants and wedding halls not following the SOPs. “Representatives of different associations who were in touch with the government seeking reopening of their sectors should be called again to ensure that the SOPs are being followed. Areas where several cases have been reported should be marked as containment zones and restrictions should be implemented,” he added.
Even Health minister Rajesh Tope stated that “We are not considering any lockdown at the moment, but people have to cooperate and follow Covid-appropriate behaviour as that is the only way forward.”
Meanwhile Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar has taken things into her own hand and has also issued a lockdown warning citing the local trains and the boom of cases. “The number of patients is increasing in the city. While local trains have resumed operations for all and several other activities have begun, people should continue to wear masks, maintain social distancing and use sanitizers.”

“But it has been observed that people are not following the norms. Schools were to open in the coming days, but we are reconsidering it now. We can head towards a lockdown and it is in the hands of citizens itself to avoid it.”
You heard her, so mask up!
